Word Press Sites

After deciding to make a word press site, I thought I better look at some current ones…

WordPress is an Open Source software which allows it to be used free of cost. You can use it on any kind of personal or commercial website without have to pay a single dime for it. It is built on PHP/MySQL(which is again Open Source) and licensed under GPL.

WordPress is now the internet’s most popular CMS, in addition to being the world’s biggest self-hosted tool for blogging.  It’s in use on millions of websites all over the world.  There are numerous plugins available for WordPress, making it one of the most versatile CSMs out there.  All those plugins also make WordPress scalable from small blog sites or business sites all the way up through large business sites. Here are a few advantages of using word press:

  • You can upload custom themes and plugins.
  • Easy one-click installation is available from many hosts.
  • Website will run off of your branded domain name.
  • You have full control over the code and can change it whenever you want to.
  • You have FULL control over your website. I know I mentioned this before, but it’s important.

Bellow are a few examples of word press sites. They are all different designs and offer a diverse range of information to users, which means I don’t have to stick to a certain word press theme.
